In Addiction, Resistance, Forgiveness &Treatment, Helga Matzko demonstrates first hand how one can transform painful personal experiences into important life lessons that lead to wholeness. Matzko’s work as a Gestalt therapist and her contribution to the field of addictive diseases teaches us about the power of forgiveness in healing from addiction. I recommend this e-book to anyone who wants to better understand about addiction from a Gestalt perspective."

In her work, Addiction, Resistance, Forgiveness &Treatment, Helga Matzko does a masterful job of explaining how Gestalt therapy can be effectively utilized to treat the ever increasing and complex addictions that rob so many of living life to the fullest. Her work shines a light on the cyclical nature of addiction, and explains how the therapeutic process can move clients from resistance to acceptance and serve as a prelude to lasting change for the better.

Addiction, Resistance, Forgiveness &Treatment is superb and should be the bible at addiction centers across the country and become part of the syllabus used in colleges and university courses on psychology of addiction and treatment.. The theory applies to us all on a most basic human level that readers can apply to themselves from addiction to coffee to alcohol.

Matzko clearly demonstrates how one cannot change unless one works with rather than against one’s resistance; for therein lies the power of the hurt, rebelling child, whose needs are hidden behind the language of resistance. Personally, I gained the most from the MPTPS, which helped me as a largely recovered addict to make connections between withdrawing into my fixed gestalts – addictions –when there are wounds and trauma of human contact triggered.

Reading the eBook and attending Helga’s teleclass gave me the mutual benefit of interdependence - which the bonds of love nourish and keep us alive, free of drugs and addictions.

With appreciation of your part in my journey, with sincerity, love and warmth,
